Match Report: Towcestrians RFC 22 - Rugby St Andrews 5
Tows play well for a good win!
A good win for Tows 16's today against some new and decent opposition at a very nice rugby club just up the A5.
With 9 lads out through injury, unavailability and East Midlands training today we had to wing it a little bit with only 17 players available (only 8 forwards today and one of our backs was still in bed!!).
Tows dominated the 1st half with the majority of possession and territory, the pack gave us some great go forward and the backs were looking to move the ball through the hands well and there was great support of the ball carrier all over the pitch.
We scored three tries through Ike, Jordan and Stephen to go in 17-0 up at half time.
The 2nd half again saw Tows dominate possession and territory with good field position and working hard to snuff out and tackle the RSA big ball carriers. Ollie stretched the lead finishing a great opportunist try from the half way line early on. RSA then hit back in the last 10 mins with a well deserved try. The final score was 22-5.
Tows were worth the win today, having to work hard and playing some good mature rugby. Maybe the score didn't fully reflect the amount of ball and pressure we had and we probably left a couple more tries on out the park being the biggest area to work on.
Overall though well done and good job lads.
Tries: Ike, Jordan, Stephen, Ollie
MOM: Ike Arrand - Cheeky little run out at center today and played well there with some good hands, tackling and all round play. Nice one!
