Deplete Broadstreet Still Put Up A Strong Battle.
Short of players but still turned up to give Towcester a great game of rugby.
As is usual with the development side a completely different set of players started the game against a depleted Broadstreet side who turned up short of players but will to give Towcester a great game of rugby.
From the kick off Tows started very brightly as it took less than 4 minutes for returnee Adam Williamson
making his first start to break through the defence with the first score.
Two minute later Aaron Goodman
found himself at the end of some very good hands beating the rush defence.
Broadstreet didn't hold back and their influential 8 playing in the centres bust through the centre slipping off tackles for their first try of the day.
With Broadstreet short of a player Williamson soon found a hole for his second of the day and putting a decent gap on the score board.
Tows had to defend well against Broadstreet as the centre combination make yards every time the had the ball.
Tows were still next on the board with colt Ryhs Balfe running in under the posts.
The final score of the half came from simple running rugby as Matt Chalcraft
ran round the outside of the defence to score close to the posts.
The second half and a number of changes the game took a while to settle back down.
Seven minutes into the half and Dominic Channing
got the score board ticking over again with Ryhs Williams and the extras.
Sam Pammant moving from 9 to 15 in the second half used his footwork to get himself on the scoreboard next as Towcester started to ease away from Broadstreet.
From the restart Tows didn't get their defence right as Broadstreet strung together a few phases and eventually crossed the try line.
At the restart Tows manage to gather the ball an Peter Gowler
returning from Oz made good yards for the forwards as John Causebrook
found himself in open space of loading to the following forwards and James Garrett stepping the final defender to get Tows last score.
The final score went to Broadstreet as the referee decided to blow 10 minutes early to end a good win for Towcester.
