Let's hope there is a good level of interest shown in this with a view to next season in particular. It is great to see a prominent figure being involved at Trafford MV - Lets not waste it lads.
This looks like a great opportunity for MV to move forward as a club and the intent of the club to improve in all senior teams and for everyone to learn and improve from what Andy Titterrell can bring to the club but also what all coaches are trying to achieve at MV. Well done on creating a great partnership at MV.
Thats true James - but it needs the players and squad members to put the effort in outside of the Tues/Thurs night sessions. Players need to do much of the fitness/stamina/weight work themselves - then the coaching and game play situations can be worked on in greater detail at the coaching sessions.
This is an opportunity for players and coaches to develope - if they want to improve!
Is he just working with the seniors Wilf, or could we nab him for the u13s for a session?
Guess you'll need to talk over with Greg - not sure what the guidelines are for working with Andy - maybe the coaches work with Andy and pass their gained knowledge onto the younger players.
Mick best speak to either me or Pat and we will try to sort something out with Titters; he's not exlusive to the seniors but equally he's not our resource to just do with what we want. We are doing him a favour and quid pro quo and all that. I'm sure he'd be willing to do a 'clinic' with the juniors we just need to work out with him what makes sense etc I doubt they are big into S&C yet!!!
Was thinking more along the lines of do's and don'ts in terms of exercise and particularly stretching, which none of our lads do, just kind of pointing them in the right direction nothing too strenuous for them. .
Before needing to enlist the services of an elite sport S&C coach with regards do's and dont's and stretching for juniors, we already have a number of very qualfied resources within the club if this advice is needed. We have a club physio with a post graduate certifcate in sport physio, a number of other physios in the senior teams, one in partiicualr with a degree in sport, and a professional athletics coach who Im sure would be willing to help!
There is a need for all sorts of physical information for young lads who are competing in a fairly strenuous sport, often, as in last Sunday, at a fairly competitive level. All the lads receive excellent coaching around the game of rugby at MV. As I know I don't need to tell you Boylie. However some of our lads have recurrent injuries, and I know one of them did see Helen recently, I think, because we don't teach them how to look after themselves before and after the match. However we have always thought of the clubs physio services as for the use of the seniors, the young lad Helen saw being an exception because of the length of his problem. I was just thinking of a "building blocks" session with someone like Andy as a massive boost for a bunch of young lads, however if you can point me in the direction of someone at the club who'd be willing to come and speak to the lads, great. I'll speak to you when I see you.
Mick I have to agree with Boyley that there are enough experienced coaches/players around the club that we souldnt need to call on Titters for this sort of thing, but I know what you are saying.
We will work on him rre some sort of 'clinic' for the Junior lads but in the meantime sounds like you need to get them sorted with a couple of pre-match/training warm up and warm down routines. See you at the w/end!
... PS it's good that this is causing debate and thinking about how we can get Titters more involved but let's use his time and experience wisely.
And besides it gets the website activity and ranking back up again :)
Good to have an open forum on topics, as long as discussed and comments accepted wisely and in manner offered. Great idea to use the skills we have within the Club more fully for players at all levels.
Do we have any mind coaches to instill winning mentality into players for the big matches?????
