To continue to provide a safe and positive environment for children and vulnerable young adults, TMV take safeguarding seriously for all its members.

Trafford MV as an RFU Seal of Approval accredited club believes that the wellbeing of children involved in rugby is of paramount importance.

The RFU’s Safeguarding Policy, Toolkit and RFU Regulation 21 sets out the minimum requirements and aims for clubs to ensure that the welfare of children remains of paramount importance. The RFU also offer an effective safeguarding training programme for all members of the game. For anyone involved in rugby (specifically those involved within the under 18 game) you can find further information on the England Rugby website. http://www.englandrugby.com/governance/safeguarding/reporting-an-incident

The RFU has a full time professional Safeguarding Team including a Designated Lead Officer for safeguarding. The RFU works with Local Children Safeguarding Boards throughout England.

The DBS process is a crucial part of an effective recruitment process and safeguarding policy. Trafford MV has a process in place whereby we carry out on-going monitoring and DBS checks for all our coaches involved in Minis and Junior rugby.

If you have any concerns about a child contact our Club Safeguarding Officers - Kathryn Wood or Andrew Lord - in the first instance, who will be happy to listen and advise you further.
