With 3 teams having now been expelled from the 2nd XV league Oldham/Chorley and BAE Wharton and already played results taken out MV have now slipped to 6th position - Fleetwood are one place better off so a keenly contested game will be assured today.

With expulsion from Leagues high on the agenda please read the note below from Bernard - we need commitment from players to ensure MV is a Club that consistently provides Rugby Union for at least 3 Senior teams.

On Saturdays 28th March, 11h April and 18th April we have 3 Saturdays when we have 3 games on each day.

In order to ensure that the 3rd XV don't have to cancel fixtures and as a result be removed from their league (as other clubs have), we need to ensure maximum availability of our players for that period. If we cancel a 3rd XV game during this late season it counts as 2 cancellations and 3 cancellations will see the 3rd XV removed from their league.

So please support the teams and make yourself the maximum amount available during this critical period towards the season end.

We understand that players have on occasions conflicting interests on a Saturday afternoon but we really need to postpone some of these whenever possible to ensure the survival of the 3rd XV.

So let us finish the league season in style with all 3 teams playing and winning their remaining fixtures. This would set the club to enjoy the last fixture for the 1st XV when they contest the Lancashire Plate Cup Final on May 2nd.
