Table topping Fleetwood are the visitors to MacPherson Park this weekend as MV look to make their mark !

With two successive single point defeats in their last 2 fixtures MV are kicking themselves for missed opportunities - losing bonus points have been collected - small reward when the spoils were there to be taken.

Performances will need to be at a premium this weekend as League pace setters Fleetwood make the trip inland in what promises to be very good rugby conditions. Good support on the touchline could give MV that extra boost to see them over the line in this telling fixture. Come down and give your support to the lads who commit themselves to the MV cause - one Club - one Shirt - Black and White of MV !

The 2nd XV journey into Lancashire to face Tarleton - we need to get this XV up and running and increasing the training level. Too many missing faces if we want to improve League places - Tuesdays and Thursdays boys !!!!

No fixture for the 3rd XV this weekend.

On Sunday the Senior Colts head into Merseyside to face Sefton and will be looking to bounce back following a poor defeat at neighbouring Bowdon last weekend.

On the Mini / Junior Hawks front October half term is upon us, so reduced numbers of kids this week, a gentle introduction to the perils of Stuart's Diner for the U7's who take on the mantle of celebrity sous chefs this week - Thank you to all parents and helpers.

As 25% of kids will be away, chasing the last few hours of sunshine in far off lands (ah...Talacre in the Autumn) there are no matches scheduled, but loins need girding and sinews need stiffening as local rivals lie in wait next on the fixture list. Train hard brave Traffordians, it's Ashton on Mersey and Eccles next weekend.

A big welcome to all our new members this season and a big pat on the back to all the Coaches for once again stepping up to the plate and moving our young players along from being novices through to being our Senior Colts XV. Great to see the products of your endeavours over the years representing the Club in the current 1st XV - Well Done All
