U13 Tour to Edinburgh
This weekend the U13 boys escaped the cold of Tring to visit Edingburgh and Murrayfield. Our roving reporter Mike Kearney updated us on their travels.
On Saturday the team took on an unbeaten Merchiston Castle School team and took them close to their first defeat of the season. With 10 minutes to play Tring led 21-22 after a hat trick of tries from Ben Reynolds but then rapid tries from Merchiston and a further try from Tring left the final score 37-28. All in all it was a nail biter that could have gone either way.
Despite their disappointment the team had a trip to Murrayfield to look forward to and Englands win certainly cheered them up.
Sunday morning saw a tired Tring team take on Scottish league stalwarts Watsonians. Despite valiant efforts the fresh legs of the opposition paid dividends and a final score of 50-10 was recorded.
