The Guernsey Hockey team are now just 3 matches away from winning the HA Trophy for a second time.
The Sarnians beat Truro 4-1 at the weekend.
Hundreds of fans turned out for the game at the Hockey Club.
It couldn't have started better for the home side. They were creating early chances, and Player Coach Andy Whalley scored with a reverse stick strike to put them on their way.
Guernsey were in control of the match and were getting more efforts on goal with plenty of attempts through penalty corners but they couldn't make them count.
And it cost them on the stroke of half time.
After a mistake from a short corner, Truro went down the other end of the pitch and got one of their own. And they took the chance and made it 1-1 at half-time.
But Guernsey were the stronger team in the first half and would have more chances in the second period but someone was going to have to step up and score one of them.
Captain Matt Watson always scores plenty of goals and he was getting closer and closer to getting his name on the scoresheet.
Truro couldn't be underestimated though. They nearly scored past Rob Turville, but the post denied the visitors.
And then finally Guernsey did get the all important goal. After winning yet another penalty corner, the ball was worked to Adam Cox who finished off the move.
The Sarnians were playing with more freedom now. The victory was all but assured when Josh Kendal scored to make it 3-1.
It was 4-1 when Watson finally got the goal he deserved. And that's the way the game finished and it ended up being a comfortable victory against a good Truro side.
Guernsey will play the next round in March. With the team scoring plenty of goals, they'll fear no one in the rest of the competition.
