Division Two giants Cwmllynfell got the fright of their lives against a spirited no nonsense Tumble before they eventually ran out winners by 22-26.

Tumble were unlucky to lose this cup tie against one of the favourites to win the SWALEC Bowl competition.
Competing against an enormous mobile pack, the Magpies defence was stretched to the limit in the first quarter. Solid defensive work by Rhys Jones and No. 8 Derek Lewis prevented scores but, with constant pressure on their line, Tumble conceded a penalty after ten minutes which outside half Craig Jones converted. Two minutes later, Cwm ran back a kick from within their own half and wing Williams crashed over in the corner.
What little possession the Magpies won through good linesout ball from Wilcox and Dumbrill, they used to feed a speedy backline. Running strongly into the visitors half, Cwm conceded a penalty and the reliable Steve Hewitt converted.
When Cwmllynfell pressed into the home twentytwo, the foraging working of mighty prop Mike Rees turned the ball over and Tumble countered. Rushing upfield, Nicky Allinson made forty metres and fed centre Daniel Mathias who careered over for a converted try.
Tumble conceded two penalties and had Jonathan Davies yellow carded and Jones kicked both to give Cwm a four point lead at half time.
Cwmllynfell scored their second try after fifty minutes when Jones split a beleaguered defence and a minute later Williams got his second and Jones converted. Cwm were now coasting playing against fourteen men after George was yellow carded. This was evened up when replacement flanker Daniel Jones was yellow carded.
Tumble provided some driving round through Pritchard and Chris Davies and were making inroads into the visitors defence. They got their reward when, after seventy minutes, centre Gareth Jones weaved some magic in midfield, fed the strong Mathias and his scoring pass gave Carl Gabrielsen the converted try. Tumble redoubled their efforts and, with Cwm creaking, Tumble’s backs ran everything. Quick ball was recycled and Chris Davies crashed over in the corner to bring Tumble four points behind.
Tumble pressed relentlessly for the score which would win the game but Cwmllynfell held on by the skin of their teeth to record the win.
