Tupton V Mellish
8th October 2017 Tupton away to Mellish
The weather was kind, the Venga was full as the under U15/14s headed off to Mellish. The boys played an amazing game with Josh Grocutt scoring the first try of the match in the first 10 minuets! Jack Cooper, showed us amazing tackling along side Harrison Shipp who also had a few good catches. The boys worked extremely well and played with true grit and determination, owning the game for the first 25 minuets. At half time the score was 12/5 to Mellish. During the second half a great sprint was achieved by Tom Dyson as he defended our ball. James Collis produced a great push back, while Thomas Porteous gave us a great example of Mauling, this enabled Thomas on wing and William Eyre as flanker to pull the boys tight together. Robson Reddish with his knee injury and Harrison Law with his ankle injury, still managed to put in a shift! Jo Crook playing number eight gave an amazing high lift, enabling us to keep the ball in play. All in all the boys played a really good game, although the final score was 37/5 to Mellish. I would like to show our appreciation to our wonderful coaches. Charlie Richmond, Jordon White, Paul Cooper, Clive Elliot, Stephen Baggaley, Jack ‘N’ Vera aka Bob and Shaun Grocutt. Jack aka Bob got told of yet again by the referee for calling off side! While Vera took us on a merry go round........ round and round the rounder-bout!!!! What’s was all that about?? Lol. A final shout out goes to all the parents that supported our boys today, I’m sure it was very much appreciated by the boys!
