Over 800 children were playing rugby at Parkfields on Sunday (26th April). Teams travelled from as far as the Surrey / Kent border and as close as Bushy Park to take part. Great rugby played by all and competing clubs embraced the spirit of the tournament. Success for some of our age groups in their leagues but to roll out a cliché “rugby was the winner on the day”!
A huge thanks to all the parent volunteers (coaches, team managers, pitch marshalls, first aiders, carpark attendants) who ensured the day ran beautifully. Special thanks to Tom Moses and Joe Samuels for manning the Control Desk, to Tash and Finola for running our first aid tent, Kathy & Dennis for feeding and watering us and big thanks to Fitzy for marking out the pitches. We were wonderful hosts and we’ve already had requests from clubs wishing to take part in next season’s festival and dates to arrange friendly fixtures! Enjoy your summer, see you back at Parkfields on the 6th September.
