Tough day for everyone involved, Twickenham unfortunate in rough conditions

Hope everybody is well.

This weeks game was a tough one for everybody involved, Players, Coaches and supporters, mainly for the blistery and freezing conditions Saturday had in store.

The team, Forwards; Joey, Ivesy and Fyles, Puff and Williams at locks, Keano, SK (Capt) and Stevey Mac as back row.
Backs; Sam W, See at half backs, DB and Mike S in the 3/4's and back three of Bucko, Ross C and Buttery.
Replacements; L.Hask, B Yerby & Hayne.

Before the game had gotten underway the conditions were always going to be tough, opting for the difficult first half Twickenham were playing away from the club house. With the wind behind them Tottonians played much of the initial 20 minutes down Twickenham's half, pinning them back with long deep kicking.

Twickenham's game plan however seemed to keep them to a very limited scoreline. Set piece being solid once again, allowed for clean platform. With a lot of dog work by all forwards and even backs mucking in Twickenham had to tun their way but up the field. Centre hit ups, and forward running from Ivesy, Puff, SK and Stevey meant it was a laborious first half. Tottonians seemed to through everything they could at Twickenham, and only through a single mistake they managed to get over twice in the first half. Unconverted they went in with a 10-0 lead.

The 2nd half got underway but Tottonians came out strong, slowing the game down and keeping the majority of possession it meant Twickenham were defending for the majority of the game. Hits from See, Keano, Williams, Joey and even Fyles out wide (WHY DID THAT HAPPEN) meant the conditions were taking their tole.

Wearing Twickenham down it was only threw simple mistakes made that Tottonians were able to get over the line. a bit of a different story in the second half meant Tottonians were able to take their opportunities, and Twickenham werent. Maybe that was the difference on the day. The final score ending 30-0 maybe not a justifiable socreline to how the game was played but thats rugby.

A bit of a regroup this week for Twickenham in order, before the away trip to Gosport this Saturday.

Thanks for the read
