A mud bath day to say the least, Twickenham not in their ideal conditions but gave all they could in a spirited performance.

Ts took to a long trip down to the coast to play a tough game against a more fitting opposition in Dover.

The side, Forwards;
Fisher, Smithy and Ivesy trio'd again, with T Knight & Moaning Mertal (Williams) in the engine room finally Skip Banks, Mooro and Big Mac in the back row.
Backs; new 1st XV starting half back combo in Rosco and Diller, See and JH Bulking out the centres with a back three of Dom 'Lurch' Stock, Bucko and Clarky.
Replacements; Return of JG, with the friendly ghost Jasper and Lorcan.

Twickenham got the game underway and on the front foot immediately, Dom using that height to some advantage. Twickenham then begun to build a platform while the pitch was at its firmest which lasted all of 7 minutes. Banks, Steve, Mooro and JH carrying well and playing in the Dover half soon lead to 3 from Diller's boot.

Same scenario once again, Clarky, Diller and See all clearing lines well but mistakes on Dover's part allowed Ts to build once more. A great set piece from the forward in such awful conditions. Smithy, Ivesy and Fishing pulling together well and getting the engine room power they needed from Williams & Knight.

Diller got us 3 once more, then Dover sparked up their game, and mistakes begun to creep into Ts game. 6-3 within 15 minutes, and at this stage its anyones game. Bucko, Clarky and Dom doing particularly well to return any ball down their channel and Rosco, Diller and See all organising the game as well as they could.

Defence was going to be the dish of the day with the amount of mistakes undoubtedly going to happen. With big runners and poor conditions Dover new how to use this, making it 8-6 with about 15 minutes left of the half. with mistakes starting to creep in Twickenham begun to concede, penalty count begun to rise and the game had shifted in advantage Dover were now in the driving seat.

Ts however never backed out of this, they new that in order for them to walk off heads held high they needed to dig deep. Some wise words said at half time was a bit of a refresh.

Ts received but off to a poor start, mistakes crept in early on and Dover capitalised on these mistakes, Ts conceded early on.

However with the backs against the wall an nothing to lose a bit of Ts spirit prevailed running rugby was what they no and thats what came out. Ball in hand and possession were now on Ts mind, players working for each other in support and ensuring they gave everything they could, and for 15 minutes there was no score, and Ts were the ones on the front foot. Finding gaps, hitting lines and even getting offloads away.

A few breaks gave Ts a glimpse of scoring however it wasn't to be and Dover got over once more. Ts played until the whistle blew, they didn't give up and roll over but dug deep and played for the shirt and the people next to them. Dover came off 32-6 winners but everyone knew it was a tough day at the office for either side.

MOTM; Definitely not Smithy but over to Mooro for body on the line stuff.

DOTD Definitely Smithy for turning up the state he did, i mean who does that .... drink before a game, i've sure never heard of it!

Thanks to all the support and coaching/physio also to Dovers hospitality.

Next week is Ts last home game of the season, with the final social following. Thanks for reading and look forward to seeing you Saturday.
