Tynedale RFC are very pleased to announce that Ben Woods has accepted the post of Rugby Director succeeding Scott Lawson with immediate effect. Scotty will assist in the transition period and once again we thank him for actively participating in his appointment and fully briefing Ben on the club’s current structure and ambitions before he accepted the position. We are very confident that he will be able to build on the progress made over the last 2 years.

We welcome Ben who is a familiar face in both the North East and also recently in Division 2 North circles and are really excited that he has agreed to join us for next season. His coaching and playing CV is impressive and for reference purposes it is summarised below .

Educated at QEGS Wakefield he played there and at both Durham University and received a Blue at Cambridge

He played for Newcastle Falcons U21s 2001 - 2008 playing consistently for the first team from 2004.

Leicester Tigers 2008-2014 (2 x Premiership Champions 2009/2010, 2x Premiership runners up, Anglo Welsh Cup winner 2012, Heineken Cup Runner Up 2009)

England U21s England Saxons.
