Tynedale today announce that our Director of Rugby Scott Lawson is retiring from professional rugby at the end of the current season and as a result is leaving us to further his career as Director of Rugby at the University of St Andrews. He leaves us in a far better position both as a team and club and this is in no small measure to his input not only as a coach but also his involvement at all levels and with many aspects of the club that many have not have been generally appreciated.
We wish Scotty, Ella and ‘Team Lawson’ all the best for the future and safe to say we will miss them all. Scott would like pass on his thanks to every member of the club but in particular would like to say how much he has enjoyed working with such a hard working and dedicated group of players.
Such is his commitment he has agreed to assist us in finding his replacement and briefing the new incumbent in all aspects of the role that in many ways he has created himself. Building on the successful foundations both at management and coaching level the club is actively seeking his replacement and is interested in speaking to any individual who feel they can contribute to Tynedale RFC at this time.
