Tynemouth U14 yellows play their first friendly
Tynemouth United U14 Yellows play Coast Soccer U14's in pre-season friendly
On Sunday 24th July 2011, Tynemouth United U14's Yellows player their first pre-season friendly. Playing League 1 team Coast Soccer it was agreed that for the benefit of both teams we would play 3 20 minute games.
The First 20 minutes of play showed the coaching staff what work needed doing in training sessions, it was also a chance to see how the players worked as a team, it was a well-played 20 minutes however in this period Tynemouth United conceded 3 goals, Tynemouth Goal Keeper Liam McConville pulled off countless saves to keep the score after the first 20 minutes a 3-0.
Following a 5 minute break to make a few changes and try playing players in various positions, the second 20 minute game started, Improvements could be seen from the off with Tynemouth managing to defend against multiple attacks from Coast Soccer. Tynemouth players were gaining confidence with every minute and the game began to flow with numerous attacks towards the Coast Soccer goal. this game ended 0-0.
After another break the final 20 minutes began and again the Tynemouth team improved with flowing gameplay, increased passing and players finding space. However an accidental own goal by a Tynemouth Player meant this 20 minute game ended Coast Soccer 1 – Tynemouth 0
Overall it was a good morning in which the managers of both teams found areas in which to work on to improve their game.
