With several changes to the side Rocks from the previous week lost heavily to Cirencester Town Dev conceding four goals in the last fourteen minutes of the game.
Rocks without regular keeper Chris Manns who broke his collar bone in the last minute of the previous game is likely to be out for the remainder of the season, keeper Tom Sheppard has returned to the club to fill in for Chris, however it was not the return that he had been hoping for, although despite the score Tom made several excellent saves, other players returning for their first game of the season were Joe Walters and Rob Cave. Making his first team start for the club was Tom Brock who for the first time played along side brother Jim in senior football and became the first brothers from the village to play in the senior team since Stephen and Robert Taylor in the 1980`s.
Town took the lead after five minutes when a shot from the left hit the post and came out to Shane Bumphrey who scored from close in.
Rocks equalized in the twenty sixth minute when from a free kick conceded thirty yards out Matt Siddon struck the ball low just inside the post giving their keeper no chance.
On thirty eight minutes Town went in front when Danny Gudger scored from a free kick from 25 yards out, this was quickly followed two minutes later when a cross from the left was not cleared and Gudger scored his second to put Town three one up at HT.
Play was fairly even for the first twenty minutes of the second half, but by now Rocks had lost both of their strikers with Jim Brock and Matt Siddon not able to continue after HT, Brock with a badly bruised ankle which he injured in a hard tackle half way through the first half and Siddon with breathing problems. During this time Sheppard brought off two excellent saves, however with only fourteen minutes remaining Town scored a further four goals against a defence that was over run with a fourth goal by Jack Smith, followed by a well worked goal with inter linking play on the right by Dan Marshall and Tom Brennan before Marshall hammered the ball in from close in for Rocks second, Jack Smith, Shane Bumphrey and Tom Luce completing the scoring in the last minute for the home side.
Rocks next match home to Purton FC on Saturday 29th November KO 3.00pm.
Rocks reserves lost away to Little Stoke by the only goal of the game.
Rocks reserves do not have a game this weekend or on the 29th November. They play their first home league game on the 6th December vs Easton Cowboys kick off 2pm.
