The Big Freeze Returns
Tomorrows Hellenic Supplementary Challenge Cup game against Pennn & Tylers Green has been postponed.
The Hellenic League has postponed the entire programme for tomorrow. This means that the cup tie against Pennn & Tylers Green tomorrow has fallen victim to the frost.

DUE TO THE ONGOING EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS OF THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS INVESTIGATIONS HAVE BEEN UNDERTAKEN WITH THE MET OFFICE TO ASSIST IN MAKING A DECISION ON SCHEDULED FIXTURES FOR 4TH FEBRUARY.
Please read the following overview of weather expected from Friday. Today will remain dry and bright with light winds this will lead into the night when a few flurries of snow not dissimilar to recent conditions will occur. These will not produce any accumulations, it will however be very cold with temperatures as low as -8 degrees for parts of the South & South East of the UK. Friday into Saturday will again be the same outlook with dry during the day with a very cold but dry night.
A band of rain moving in from the West is then expected to collide with the very cold air we are currently experiencing in the UK. From Saturday this is likely to result in the rain quickly turning to snow over most parts of the UK and Scotland. Some of this snow could be prolonged and heavy at times. Worst affected is likely to be the North and South East and some more central areas of the UK.
From Midday on Saturday light to moderate snow/sleet is likely to fall for a period of up to 3 to 4hrs. There is a 50-60% probability of accumulations of 3-5cms. However, it is expected that the snow may then turn to rain as the day progresses.
IN VIEW OF THE FOREGOING THE HELLENIC LEAGUE EXECUTIVE HAS MADE THE DECISION TO POSTPONE ALL MATCHES ADMINISTERED BY THE COMPETITION AND SCHEDULED FOR 4TH FEBRUARY.
This communication will be forwarded to all match officials and assessors.
