If you haven't been down, the scale of the project is huge. While the works to the rugby have been hindered due to the weather we hope to be done soon

The hockey pitch is progressing well, and taking aside the particularly wet conditions we have had in the last month, the contractor has done well to only be a few days behind on the programme.

He was originally working towards handing it over to us by Friday 4th September but it is looking likely the handover date will now be Friday 11th September, all going well.

The pitch itself is now fully formed, with the pitch watering system almost complete. That will then allow the floodlighting and fencing to be started, with the carpet being the final thing fitted prior to handover.

Although delayed due to recent wet conditions the landscaper starts their works this week, which will see them prioritise formation and seeding of the Rugby floodlit training area, with the view to this becoming available within the next 5/6 weeks prior to the dark nights returning.

They will also smooth off, make good and seed the extended senior pitch side and end with the view that this area may be ready for the coming season, however more than likely we will leave these areas to settle till next summer so the youth teams would continue to use the existing youth pitch and all senior home matches will be played at Porterswells.

Finally, the areas surrounding the pitch will be finished off to dress the pitch. That will see the contractors mains works complete.

The next phase of works will then progress with additional car parking being installed and the remaining area left over made good and levelled.

As usual should any member have any questions on the works or future plans for the club grounds please direct them to our President Allan McGill at uddingstoncsc@gmail.com.
