Ras skint for next month

Club Pro, Rasika Priyadarshana, has spent all of his first month's wages on thermal underwear.

Ras will be going around the club with a begging bowl, this weekend, after spending his first month's wages on thermal underwear in an effort to stave off the Scottish Spring weather.

Following his arrival, yesterday, Ras went to British Home Stores first thing this morning to buy all the warm clothes he could lay his frostbitten fingers on.
Ras stopped shivering for ten seconds to offer us his reasoning behind his early morning trolley dash;

"Bladdy hell mate, I've just come from 35 degree heat and this weather has got me feeling colder than penguin's breakfast."

The Sri Lankan all-rounder wasted no time in trying to acclimatise to the Scottish climate by catching an early train to Glasgow where he shot to BHS and pounded on the door until the harried staff let the shivering seamer in. There he dashed to the thermals section and grabbed armfuls of clobber in scenes reminiscent of Colin Blackwood aiming for the cream pancakes at teatime.

Instead of taking his purchases home to put on, he stripped in the middle of the store and put on as many layers as possible. Several of the older female staff took hot flushes and had to be attended to by first aid trained colleagues.

Ras will be modelling several layers of his new attire tomorrow as the 1st XI take on Grange in Uddy's second Scottish Cup game.
