A round up of all four teams' matches this week

Last Wednesday all four teams of UBRFC were in BUCS action, with the 3s and 4s kicking off their respective campaigns.
The 1s took the journey up to Leeds with the conditions far from perfect for fast running rugby; it was destined to be a dog fight of a game from the start. An early break away try from Josh Amadi saw him set the tone for the rest of the game, picking up a tasty hat trick. But unfortunately a combination of good use of the boot and a well drilled pack saw the boys go down 26-15 in a tricky game.
Moving on to Warwick, where the 2s had yet another first team to compete with. A tightly fought first half left the score at 10-3 with it all to play for. The rain joined us with half an hour to play, yet again taking away from the opportunity to watch the running rugby any UBRFC fan has come to love over the last couple of years, and regrettably Warwick went on to claim a good victory, despite a last ditch but ‘promise for future magic try at the end for the boys in red. FT Warwick 34-16 Birmingham.
As they say, there is no place like home. And that is where I have the pleasure to take you now, where Metchley saw its first BUCS games of the year. The 3s faced Nottingham Trent, who promised to have been eating their greens, and they did not disappoint. Against a sizeable outfit, Brum held out tirelessly for the first 65 minutes but after endless big hits, a couple of last minute tries left the score looking possibly unfairly one-sided to Trent. FT 35-3.
And now we come to what can only be described as the ray of sunshine on a fairly gloomy Wednesday of results for UBRFC. The 4s took to the field feeling good and looking better. They faced our closed neighbours BCU 1s – but you wouldn’t have thought this was a fourth team against a first team from the way this fixture was to play out. With strength in the pack, composure in the middle and fire on the wings, the 4s tore through the BCU defence with Jack Folland picking up a brace. FT 47-0, but who’s counting.
Well done to all the boys on the pitch and always a shout out to the boys who side lined and supported.
