by UoB Sharks

The first run out for the Shark's freshers on their own saw them bring home a huge victory for the club.

Birmingham University Sharks won their final game of the year against a Wolverhampton U18's side 102-44. Taking a 9 man squad of freshers to bolster their playing time to prepare them for a step up to second years, many were hungover at the start of the game and it showed as the young Wolves team took a 26-9 lead after the first quarter.

After a team talk and tactics from inspirational coach for the day Daniel Seymour Seymour, the Sharks came out firing in the second quarter not letting their opponents get a point on the board. Another dominant display in the third quarter increased our lead with full back Ollie Di-Lieto raging forward and scoring a couple of goals.
When Wolves had a man sent off for desent in the final quarter it meant curtains as the Sharks continued to push forward and... increase the score.

With many senior players graduating this year the club looks set for more successs in the future as the new breed of Sharks showed today that they can live up to the reputation that they are making for themselves in the Aussie Rules world.

Final score: Sharks 14.18.102 Wolves 6.9.44
