Pioneers complete first week of pre-season with season preparations in full swing

we know about the challenge and each year have risen to the occasion in preparation for the opening fixture.
- Allan Wilson, Head Coach

DU Rugby completed its first week of training with over 40 squad members taking part as the Pioneers prepare for a quick start to the season. With DU Rugby scheduled for their first competitive league game on October 3, 2015 against UCCS the Pioneers have a lot of work to do with both returning and new players.

"The shortened pre-season is certainly a challenge in getting our players up-to-speed," shared Allan Wilson, "But we know about the challenge and each year have risen to the occasion in preparation for the opening fixture."

The Pioneers have a returning/experienced mix of about 25 players and 15 players who are new to the sport of rugby.

"It is always exciting to see new players joining the sport of rugby," shared Stu Halsall, "We believe it is the best sport in the world and look forward to exposing these young men to both the values and camaraderie of the sport."

DU Rugby will face the School of Mines on Wednesday 9/23 at 5:45pm in a controlled scrimmage to give all players an opportunity to taste their first action of the season. Please join us at Diane Wendt Sports Fields if your schedule permits.
