DU Rugby will open the Cowboy Cup against the University of Dallas at the home field of the "Hoggies". DU Rugby is well rested after a three week break from matches in which the focus has been getting healthy. The Pioneers have a clean bill of health and that is shown in the team selection for the match.

"We have named a very strong lineup and that is reflected in the names that are available to us as replacements", shared head coach Allan Wilson, "It was tough to make selection this week as we had lots of options which is the first time this season that we have been able to say that."

The University of Dallas is 15-1 on the season and is the #2 seed from the Texas region after suffering its first loss to Angelo State University in the state championship game 43-22. However, the game was much closer than the score suggested with the Hoggies dominating the first half but missing some key scoring opportunities from close in. DU Rugby expects the University of Dallas to come out firing after that loss.

"We are expecting a physical game and the University of Dallas will be looking to put their first loss behind them", shared Stu Halsall, "They will want to put in a strong performance on their home field and we have to match that intensity, but also play our style of rugby."

The University of Dallas has made strong strides as a program and in speaking with their head coach they are looking to move their program to a varsity level in the next couple of years with an upgrade to their facilities.
