Gators and Dogs Unite

The members of the UFRFC took some time to help out the community by volunteering at the Alachua County Animal Services Shelter on Sunday.

About 20 players drove to the animal shelter where they spent time learning about the adoption process and interacting with dozens of dogs and cats who stay at the shelter.

Thousands of animals are brought to the shelter every year, but taking care of so many needy potential pets is a massive task.

Luckily, citizens can adopt dogs or cats or even foster them until someone wants to adopt them. Typically, adopting a dog costs around $85 but the price drops the longer they are at the shelter.

Giving back to the community is one of the goals of the UFRFC and we thank all the employees at the Alachua County Animal Services office for their hard work.
