After being held to only 12 points in an eight-point loss, UF scored at will against a much smaller and less physical defense.
Although the Gators had some mental mistakes early on, inside center Jason Lentz opened up the onslaught with a try at the 28-minute mark after battling his way through several defenders inside the 5-meter line.
It only took three minutes for the Gators to score again as Jordan Manning got a try before scrum-half Raf Freedman scored on a short pick-and-go.
A breakdown in communication led to a Vanderbilt try, and after a successful conversion, the score was 21-7.
Unfortunately for Vanderbilt, they had no answers for the powerful Lentz, who scored again with four minutes left. Lucas Baistrocchi went 4 for 4 on first-half conversions.
Ten minutes into the second half, Lentz overpowered his way for his third try of the day and later added a fourth on an incredible run of over 50 meters.
Other scorers on the day included Brett Gallrein, Nicholas Calvo, Baistrocchi and Josh Nicdao – who simply outran everyone on a play that began inside the Gators’ 22.
UF will travel to Lexington on Friday and will field two sides against Kentucky on Saturday.
