UP Floorball Club helps in IskoOperation
The University of the Philippines Floorball Club extended its arms to give assistance to IskoOperation last Saturday, August 11.
The UP Floorball Club answered the call for volunteer works and gave its support to IskoOperation, a relief operation spearheaded by the University Student Council, last Saturday, August 11 at the Ylanan Gym, College of Human Kinetics, UP Diliman. IskoOperation is the initiative taken by the USC which aims to help those devastated by the recent onslaught of monsoon rains that hit Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon.
Approximately 30 members and applicants of the Club joined the initiative and provided their much-needed cooperation for a greater cause. Some of them helped in unpacking supplies of relief goods from boxes and grouped them accordingly. Volunteers also helped in packing relief goods such as toiletries, canned goods, noodles, biscuits, and the like. Others brought aid in carrying deployment-ready relief packs by passing those packs though human chains. The relief goods are expected to reach the distressed people around Metro Manila.
This step by the UP Floorball Club came after the call of the University Student Council for more aid in the fourth day of their relief efforts. The fourth the day of the league was originally scheduled last Saturday but the officers of the Club decided to cancel the scheduled games to give way in delivering assistance to the relief operation. The League will resume on August 18. Adjustments for the schedule of matches for the League will be announced soon.
