On Monday 25th of June UWLHC and UWMHC joined together to organise a charity hockey tournament in aid of Joining Jack. Joining Jack is a charity set up by Jack's parents to help better the lives of children suffering from the terminal disease, Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).
Many other Warwick university sports clubs participated in the tournament, such as; mixed hockey, lacrosse, squash, rowing, floor ball and pick n mix. It was a very successful and fun tournament, topped off by superb weather.
There was some magnificent play by many of the other sports clubs, particularly squash, who's team consisted of many of our club members too. The final was a very hotly competed battle between two mixed teams from UWHC. One captained by Jo Boddy, next years UWLHC 2nd team captain, and the other by Ben Askins (aka Wonky), next years 1st team captain for UWMHC.
A huge thanks must go to Natalie Wride and Rich Smith for organising the event.
A total of £365 was raised for Joining Jack.
