UWLHC - Swimming with Leamington Dolphins

UWLHC - Swimming with Leamington Dolphins image

Leamington Dolphins is a swimming club in Leamington Spa where children with a range of disabilities come swimming with their families.

In the one hour session run on Sundays the children:
-have fun and get confident in the water,
-get taught how to swim,
-make new friends
-swim with their brothers, sisters, parents etc, but also swim with teachers and volunteers whilst giving their parents a break

We started volunteering with Leamington Dolphins a couple of weeks ago and on behalf of all the girls I can definitely say we will be going back next term! It is such an amazing club and you can tell the children and families gain so much from it. You get to meet some lovely children and families and you get a real sense of achievement by giving up some of your time every Sunday to volunteer. The other teachers and volunteers are also lovely and I cannot stress enough how great Leamington Dolphins is.

A big thank you from me to all the girls that have been this term …. Yankee, Katie Bell, Izi, Geri, Nat, Lyndsay, Steph and Hicks... (I hope you don't all forget the kangaroo or bicycles over Christmas!...sorry I mean Sophie/Chip says I hope you don't all forget the kangaroo or bicycles over Christmas!). Also, a big thank you to old girl Mary Lilliman who told me about Leamington Dolphins.

Looking forward to taking more of you girls there next term (don’t forget to bring your costume to Leam after Christmas!!!)
