It is with deep sadness that URFC has to inform all members as to the passing off of Chris Byrne.
One of the long standing members of the club, for those who did not know Chris and there can not be many.
He was a player first and foremost and represented the club from 4th XV, all the way to propping for many years for the 1st XV.
He was also a committee man and held many posts, including at one stage the dual post of Chairman for the senior and youth sections, and up until his sudden passing was youth manager of the current Under 16's.

Our deepest sympathies at this time go to his wife Anne and his children Matt, Joe, Maggi, Andrew and his first grandchild Darcy.

A funeral service will take place at Bentley Crematorium & Cemetery, Ongar Rd, Brentwood, Essex, CM15 9RZ on Thursday 2nd April at 3pm.
Afterwards, all are invited to Upminster Rugby Club to celebrate Chris' life.
