In scorching heat, Uttoxeter travelled down to Rugeley with a squad of just 9 players taken from both the 1st and 2nd XV, The group stage consisted of a 5 team group, the first against Wednesbury which resulted in a 17 - 17 draw. Then a fantastic win against Stafford A 39-31.
A close defeat to local rivals Stone B, and then a convincing win against Aston Bears 24 - 7. Finally a defeat at the hands of Cannock 22-21.
Zac Wright unfortunately had to depart for hospital with a suspected dislocated finger, and with injuries to Ant Wild and Joe Cripps, Uttoxeter were down to just 6 men for the semi final. Fortunately the cavalry arrived just a minute before kick off in the form of Club Captain Jake Batista-Cabrera and Callum Shaw.
An easy win against Aston Eagles meant that Uttoxeter were to face Stone again in the final, but it wasn't to be a repeat of the group game, with Uttoxeter cruising to a 52-14 victory.
A great day of rugby, and thanks to Rugeley for hosting and organising.
