A tough contest between Uxbridge and Bedworth finished up honours even with the score tied at 1-1 at the end, with our opponents down to ten-men.
A superb piece of wing play by Mark Smith saw him twist and turn on the right to supply a perfect near post cross for Michael MURRAY to head home powerfully past Greenbacks keeper Tom Cross with only six minutes gone.
The lead was short-lived however and in the 15th minute, after Matt Elston-Bull had turned a shot behind by Mitchell Piggon the resulting corner wasn't properly cleared and the ball was put back in dangerously into the box by Richard Wesley and centre-back Ian Roper headed it down for Ashley ROBINSON to take his chance.
We had to withstand two ferocious free-kick's from dead ball specialist Tom Bates and a poor finish by Robinson when he looked well placed to score.
Elston-Bull would save well early in the second-half, but the game hit drama on 54 minutes!
There was a 22 player brawl on the pitch and during the melee there was a red card shown to Robinson for punching Elston-Bull.
Three other players recieved yellow cards in the disturbance.
We now had a man advantage over our opponents and carved out one or two chances that might have gone in on another day.
Murray's free-kick eluded both Rob Fitzgerald and the late arriving sub Stu Farrell.
A clever run into the heart of the Greenbacks defence by Smith nearly produced a great end product, as it ended with his shot going beyond the far post.
Sub Nicke Kabamba put a header onto the top of the net, then there was a huge appeal with conviction for a handball in the box by Ashley Spencer, but the referee who had a pretty poor game waved away the appeal's.
Our last real worthwhile effort on goal came when Cross got across his six-yard box to turn away Murray's shot.
