The Reserves started the match well and created numerous chances without success, but it was Crawley who scored first when they got a scrambled goal after 25minutes.
Uxbridge responded with more sustained efforts and they eventually scored when Kambamba scored in the 40th minute with a close range shot.
The Reserves continued to press Downs defense at the start of the 2nd half and Howell forced the ball home in a goalmouth melee in the 50th minute. Midway through the half Capewell found himself free in the opposition half and he looked up and saw the Crawley goalkeeper off his line and chipped a shot over him for an outstanding goal.
Both teams created half chances after this without success and Uxbridge ran out comfortable winners of this crucial fixture.
