On the longest day, the Vale produced some sciintilatinting passages of high tempo of rugby in an exciting, all action, crowd pleasing competition that could become an integral component of the local rugby calendar. With spectators basking in the sunshine in a perfect setting, the play was fast and furious and hugely entertaining.

Principal of Fylde College, Frank Wareing, thanked the Vale, who also entered their Senior Colts, for supporting the tournament and helping to raise its profile. The competition had originally started out as an inter college event to ring down the curtain on the Summer Term, it would now appear that wider horizons beckon.
