Duo join Scorpions
Lewis Fox has become the latest Cougar to join South Wales Scorpions.
The centre joins Shaun Owens – who signed for the Scorpions earlier this week – on an initial trial contract ahead of this Saturday’s pre-season friendly against a Wigan Warriors XIII.
“It’s a good opportunity for both and a clear sign that having a team just below the Championships is a positive thing for rugby league in Wales,” said Cougars secretary Clive Batchelor.
“Not only were the Cougars competitive last year, but the off-season has shown that we have players capable of making the step and that can only be a positive.
“Both Lewis and Shaun were big players for us last year and will undoubtedly do well at a higher level.”
The pair has increased the number of players to have progressed up the player pathway system to four; following Phil Carleton and Liam Watton to the Championship One side.
