A new look Vauxhall travelled to Oswestry to play a friendly match with TNS. With a number of new players in the squad it was an opportunity to experiment and try out a few variations in our patterns of play. It made for an entertaining game of football played in superb conditions and produced some excellent passages of play.
The goals came courtesy of a Joe Salusbury header and a classy hat trick from Jake Stinton. Whilst it is always nice to win it was the manner in which the new players slotted into the team and produce a series of tremendous individual performances.
It was an encouraging start and we hope to build on that when we travel to Woolton to play in the Oliver King Memorial Tournament on 3rd and 4th June.
Our thanks and appreciation go to the team at TNS for their hospitality, for providing the opposition and for making it a real test for the boys, who thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play in such terrific surroundings.
