VCD edged out Kent rivals Ramsgate in the opening day Bostick south east division fixture at Oakwood . A Charlie MacDonald brace had given Vickers a two goal cushion by half time , Vickers had controlled the opening 45 minutes and the lead was thourghly deserved . Ramsgate upped the pace in the second half and had Vickers pegged into their own half for long occasions , Vickers defended well with Junior Baker outstanding ,Ramsgate did get a goal back through Tom Chapman but after this further chances were limited , although Charlie MacDonald did miss the opportunity of a hat trick when the Ramsgate keeper did well when one on one with the experienced striker.
VCD are in League action next Saturday when they travel to Sussex to play league newcomers Hayward’s Heath.
Before that VCD entertain aGillingham eleven at Oakwood this Wednesday with a 7.00pm kick off
