Recruitment
Dear Members,
Player recruitment is vital to the continuing life and success of our rugby club. We need ideas on how we can improve the awareness of our club in the community and provide a rugby opportunity for those people that might not otherwise consider our sport, as well as attract those local to Verwood who may be unwittingly travelling to clubs further afield, or have a desire to return to the game following a break, or a move to the local area.
Ideas do not need to cost a lot of money, it is more about spreading the message and enthusiasm for the game and our club in particular. What can you do the help your club boost the number of registered players?
· Are you an ideas person?
· Can you create posters?
· Can you distribute posters?
· Would your employer let you put up recruitment posters?
· Do you have contacts in the media and can you write an article that would attract players to our club?
· Would you want to be a coach or a referee?
· Would you be a club volunteer?
The above list is only an example of the sorts of things that do not take up too much time, but could be valuable to our club.
We need people to develop ideas and people who are prepared to implement those ideas. If you are a person who could do something like this, please contact the club and put yourself forward. Come and have a beer with the coaching team or players after training on Thursday, or after our first home game on 4th Sept, and you will be made very welcome.
There are numbers of people out there that maybe used to play rugby, maybe have liked the rugby that they have seen on TV, maybe always wanted to try rugby, but have been too shy etc. We need to find these people and get them down to our club. A Club open day is an option that could be explored.
Anyway the message is that we need your help in boosting playing numbers and you could be the person that is the catalyst for that to happen.
