Some of you may remember Richard Bettles, once of this Parish, and a useful winger for Vigo RFC. Since he left these shores for a new life in Australia, I am afraid that Richard has become completely bonkers and insists on running marathons and ultra-marathons and the such like. He is now about to embark on a completely ridiculous 170 km race through France, Switzerland and Italy on 24th August. It is all in a worthy cause, raising money for dementia and Alzheimers Research.
