Vinters secure their first home win in the Kent Youth League
Vinters Under 13 made their presence felt at their first match in the Valley Express Kent Youth League.
Thegame kicked off in fine style and a lively match ensued. Jamie Petrie came close with an early effort and Vinters were awarded a penalty for a push in the area where Brodie Fernandes converted to open the scoring 1–0.. Petrie had another shot saved by the Hollands & Blair keeper, who also scooped another ball from a corner. After a lob into the area was latched onto by Chris Carcary, he shot a superb volley into the top left corner of the goal increasing the home side’s score to 2-0. The play swung from end to end, but the visitors could not break the Vinters defence. More shots rained from Vinters but Petrie and Cammarano were unable to increase the score despite going close on occasions. The half time score remained 2-0.
The second half saw Hollands & Blair upping the tempo and an Emile Buels’ early shot went over the bar from close range. Hollands broke through on a few occasions and kept up the pressure but their shots were agonisingly off target. Midway through the half, Ed Cammarano hit a long range effort into the goal when the keeper was caught unprepared after a previous effort was thwarted. 3-0. Hollands & Blair seemed to find extra energy and they finished the scoring just before full time when Brendan Collins stretched and got his fingers to the ball but it found its way into the top left of the net. Final score 3-1.
