After three weeks off not training due to the bad weather the vipers under 7s turned up at Loughborough rfc, you could tell that everybody was very excited to see what our boys where going to pull out off the hat!! We was abit late getting there, so we went straight into the warm up and started to get the lads ready to play the first off three matches.
I’ve got to say that as soon as our vipers did there team hug and shouted “ VIPERS “ they lined up and they looked stronger then ever, they were switched on and ready to take Loughborough rfc on!!
We started the first half, the whistle went and straight the way we had a try on the board, The lads were all over Loughborough and they just dominated the whole match winning nine try’s to two.
In the second game we decided to mix some off the younger players with the older lads and it went very well, The older vipers really helped the younger ones out and took control over the game to let our younger vipers experience playing and what team work is all about, The vipers only lost this game by five try’s to four, But when the game had ended they all had very big smiles on there faces which at the end off the day is what its all about, Having fun.
We faced Loughborough for the last match, and what a game it was, they didn’t stand a chance, our vipers just went for it, all you could hear was
“Tag!! “and the players telling each other who to pass too and really taking control off there game, it was great to see, they seemed to know that as soon as a try is scored they went straight back to there half and lined up, each player nearly in the same place every time, as the coach’s watched it was great sight to see they have taken on board and are now putting in place what they have learnt in the game off tag rugby. We won this match seven try’s to four!! We was strong up front, the defence was fantastic, they keep every piece off the pitch covered and even if Loughborough got threw, There was a viper there to tag them and stop them in there tracks.
We decided to keep a count off the amount off tags our vipers got this week, At the end off the games we had a good team talk and asked them how many tags do they think they got, We told them it was an amazing 26 tags, and 19 try’s!!! They looked very pleased with themselves and with a great round off applause from all the coaching staff and parents; you could see they were very proud off them self’s
Just a quick mention to say its great to see all the parents getting stuck in with all the cheering and support for our vipers, We have a fantastic following and you could see how proud we are off these young vipers for what they have achieved and how much they have developed in there game.
It was hotdog time, and it was funny to see, When we walked into the club house some off our under 7s were sat at the bar waiting for there hotdogs!!! Well done lads, keep up the great work.
