UVA B-Side followed up the A-Side victory over Georgia Tech with a strong win of its own, defeating Lord Fairfax Community College 41-29.
The UVA B-Side wasn’t to be outdone by the A-Side’s convincing victory over Georgia Tech, in turn beating Lord Fairfax CC by a score of 41-29. The B-Side dominated their opponent in the first half racking up a score of 41-0 by the half. In the backs, Outside Center Macklin McMullen had a terrific day, scoring two tries of hard runs and adding three conversions. Wings Campbell Ross and Marcus Nappier also scored tries, with Nappier running down a brilliant tactical kick from Flyhalf Jeff Dean. Also of note was the play of Inside Center Vasco Ferreira-Pinto, who torched the defense with a series of hard runs followed up by some savvy offloads.
In the pack, Flanker Bryan Oden had a tremendous day, not only scoring two long tries, but also making numerous tackles. He was aided by the play of 8 Man Chris Millisits, who added a try of his own to go along with a couple long runs. Additionally, Locks Will Weber and Mike McKenna, aided by the play of Props Carter King and James Sayer, had strong performances dominating lineouts and winning scores of rucks.
