While the previous systems were very confusing, this year it all sounds much more transparent and fair. All young players are invited to sign up for the “Cornwall Developing Players Programme”, which involves expert coaching one evening a month and one full day of games and selection drills in each half-term. From these sessions, players will be selected to join a more select group, the “England Rugby Developing Player Programme” – from u15 level this group will form the basis of the county squad.

Camels would encourage all keen players to attend these sessions if they can – even if you aren’t selected for higher things, they are an opportunity to work with different coaches and develop your game.
