Before yesterday's game there was a minutes silence for former player Chris Treglown who was tragically killed in a car accident last Sunday aged 23..

Chris came up through the youth ranks and played for the 1st team against Plymouth Argyle when the new changing rooms were officially opened.

Tributes included in yesterday's match programme dedicated to Chris included:

  • Mark Menhinick, 1st team manager: "On a sad note I was very shocked to hear of the death of Chris Treglown in a car accident last weekend. He first played for Wadebridge under 9's and went on to play at County Youth level. he was very quick and keen player who always had a smile on his face and will be sorely missed. Our sympathies are with his family at this very sad time."
  • Paul Thomas, Bridgers legend and former manager of Chris: "So shocked and saddened to hear this news. Chris was such a lovely lad and pleasure to coach at Wadebridge Town FC. We'll all remember him skinning the Argyle left back in the game to open the grandstand at Bodieve. My deepest sympathy to John and the family."
  • Damian Cudmore, programme editor and player: "RIP Chris! So sad to hear the devastating news today. Taken at such a young age. Top lad and great footballer that I had the pleasure to play alongside with Wadebridge Reserves. He will be sorely missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting him. Deepest sympathies go out to John and Julia and the rest of the family. Damian & Catherine x"
  • Dave Witts, former Youth Chairman: "Remembering one of the sweetest lads I ever had the privilege to know and he will be deeply missed by all. RIP young Chris T and love to all his family and friends at this difficult time."

The Club sends it's very best and sincere wishes to John and Julia at this very difficult time and just to re-iterate what a lovely young lad he was and grew up in to a true gentleman.

You will always be in our hearts Chris at Bodieve.
