This continued in quarter two, Athletic driving further forward to 14-1. However, Katie held her own in GD, intercepting a number of passes and disrupting their flow of play.
The third quarter proved to be the most exciting of the match, the Phoenix girls holding the Athletic team to 4-4. The girls moved freely up and down the court, with fantastic passing awareness across the team. Unfortunately Athletic ran away with quarter four. There was however, an excellent goal by Grace from the edge of the D.

Again, deeper, more accurate passing would help the girls progress as well as learning to use the team outside of the circle to supporting the shooting team. This would allow them to move closer to the post attempt to score. Additionally, the girls need to think about playing their own game at their speed rather than trying to play in the style of the opposition. This will develop as the team get used to playing with each other.

The final score was 24-6 to Leeds Athletic with Player’s Player of the Match being awarded to Katy Sanderson.
