It's o so near.

Hi Everyone,
Well, we’re going in on the 17th. We may not have the seating we want but the clubhouse will be open for business. It does mean that our grand opening will probably be around the middle of January 2012, so thinking caps on boys let’s have a few suggestions for a splendiferous do.
Have you seen the interior lately? It does look ‘Les coulies de Chien’. Just the flooring to be laid and a couple of things behind the bar and we’re there.
The meeting with Julie from the Somerset RFU went well, thank you to all those who completed the survey, and to those who attended the evening. We are now looking at the next stage of development where we are trying to put all our thoughts and ideas into a cohesive plan of attack.
Talking of attack, I was amazed at how the two games I attended last weekend bore striking similarities. On Saturday the first’s after a lethargic first half sprung into life in the second and pulled off a workmanlike win against Wimborne. Not pretty but very satisfying. Then blow me down if the 17’s didn’t do exactly the same on Sunday over at ST Brendan’s. I think what was most pleasing was the patience of the first’s to grind out a win and the maturity of the 17’s to stay composed when they went behind. But both teams showed tremendous spirit and enthusiasm which is the hallmark of any Walcot team.
Don’t forget, Saturday the 17th- the social sub-committee have organised a festive day including mince pies, mulled wine, egg nog etc and hopefully a Christmas sing-a-long if we can find a piano in time.
If I don’t see you up the club please have a ‘Merry Christmas’ and a ‘happy and prosperous new year’.
Kev
