Wallington vs Cramlington United. George Dobbins League Cup. Saturday 6th September. 2pm Kick Off at Oakford Park

Wallington will be aiming to get back that winning feeling when they entertain Cramlington United tomorrow afternoon.

Two years on from their final appearance, The George Dobbins League Cup remains a trophy high on Davey Featherstone’s agenda and he will be hoping he can guide his team one step further than in 2013. Last year saw The Greens’ crash out to Whickham Sporting Club (then Gateshead Redheugh 1957) where Adam Whitehead’s strike was only a consolation in a deserved 2-1 defeat.

This year Cramlington will be an unknown quantity at Scot’s Gap in the sides’ first ever meeting. There have been many battle’s with their rivals Cramlington Town over the years but this will be the inaugural meeting with United. The Division Two outfit have had a difficult start to life this season and currently reside bottom with one draw and six defeats from their seven games played so far.

Baring long term absentees, Si Brown and Arthur Okownko, the home side should have a relatively full squad to choose from this weekend.
Greg Reardon, Tom Truscott and Ryan Gair have all returned from holiday and are available but Adam Whitehead is missing with work commitments. Rishi Dhand and Ben Turnbull are back in contention after missing last weekend while Matty Blackith will be hoping to make his first appearance in a Green shirt.
Justin Millican and Chris Moffitt may well be afforded limited field time as their ageing legs prepare for Sunday’s Great North Run.
