Walsall Under 7's First games at Worcester
Very even contests all round.
Firstly a big well done to all this week. Despite it being our first game's, I thought we played some fantastic rugby with the more experienced players playing how they know how, but at the same time talking to our newer players, making sure they knew where to stand in defence and encouraging them to support when in attack.
We split up today into 2 teams, with me taking one team and Mike W the other. I was a little skeptical of the new rules, but have to say it worked well today and saw that the 4 players on each team had plenty of ball, resulting in LOTS of tries!
Although not everybody got on the score sheet, I was extremely impressed with how well everyone supported, but even more so with how the teams defended, with some excellent tagging, especially from the new boys. Despite it being our first games already we could see the defensive line taking shape, so hopefully the work we've been doing in bulldog and the tagging drills is coming off!
2 things for us to work on.......NO DIVING/SLIDING WHEN SCORING AND STAYING IN THE LINES!
