It would have been extremely difficult to trump how well the Under 7's played last week against Worcester, but to their credit, they pulled it off with yet another fantastic morning of rugby, with close matches against both the hosts Tamworth and Barton Under Needwood.

Yet again, it was pointed out by parents and coaches that the basic skills are really starting to show now. Passes going to hand, supporting and showing a real hunger for the ball, particularly when it was on the floor!
We are seeing less 'Ash Splash's' and more thinking about putting the ball down and the awareness of the boundaries is also starting to sink.
One memorable moment for me was watching Noah run 90 degrees across the pitch (convincing me he was going to continue back to the clubhouse), but then throwing another instant 90 degree turn on a sixpence, hugging the touch line and making his way over the try line. It was also good to see the shape of the defensive line coming on. We are still rushing up, but as the day went on, you could definitely see the players starting to work together and track side to side.

All in all, I was extremely proud of all them. Special mention to Freddie scoring 11 tries for my team and to Maxwell scoring 12 for his. However, the 'Stars Of The Week' this week were Ben P for yet another great defensive and supporting display and Daniel for showing a real willing in tagging!

Training next week at Walsall (1030am), with Big Jack having strict instructions to BEAST EM! ;-)

Have fun. Gav.
