I’m conscious that since the overwhelming majority voted to move forward with the Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP) in November, little has been communicated to you with regard to progress. The Executive Committee, aided by senior members have been working closely with the RFU lawyers, tax advisors and facility managers over the last 3 months and I am now delighted to give you the positive update as to where we currently stand and what’s happening in the near future:
Planning Permission for the AGP was granted on the 1st February 2018
Lease agreements are almost finalised for signatory
Pitch outline and plan for the ground has been agreed, as attached.
A schedule of works has been agreed.
A pre-meeting with the contractors has been arranged in March.
A start date of installation has been agreed, with work to commence on the 23rd April.
The project timeline for the build is 12 to 16 weeks, so the start date has been chosen to give us as much opportunity as possible to have the pitch ready for the start of next season.
I hope you appreciate the progress that has been made and are excited as I am at the opportunity that exists for the club. I can assure you the Exec are ever conscious and diligent in ensuring the clubs best interest for the project.
Should you have any questions or wish to discuss the project further, please feel free to contact any of the Executive Committee at any time.
